It takes courage, as well as curiosity, to be willing to explore and engage in counselling. Often we don’t understand why we react the way that we do, to the people and experiences in our lives. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative therapy to enable you to manage emotions, memories and relationship dynamics. As well, I approach trauma using a variety of perspectives, all of which rely on you feeling secure and stable enough to deal with things that may have happened to you. You are a unique individual, and I approach working with you from that perspective.
I am a Certified Canadian Counsellor. As well, I bring an MA in Conflict Studies which includes an emphasis on trauma, power and conflict. My areas of focus include anxiety and panic, and depression. Trauma work includes intimate partner violence, sexual assault, refugee and geo-political violence, religious abuse and medical trauma.
